Women's Fund of Warrick County Grants
4C of Southern Indiana received $1,000 for parenting classes targeted for families with children under 5 years to focus on helping parents understand developmental stages, appropriate discipline, self care, and positive interaction. Funding will purchase 100 workbooks to be used to expand the program currently held at the Women's Hospital in Newburgh.
Catholic Charities Neighbor to Neighbor Program received $1800 for a 7 week, 14 lesson interactive and motivational group training for women to learn money management skills to become more responsible family members and citizens of the community.
Girl Scouts of Raintree Council received $2500 to fund membership and materials for a Warrick County Girls Glam Jam for 200 fifth through eight grade girls. Workshops will be provided to address prevention of eating disorders, teen pregnancy, tobacco and drug use, bullying/sexual harassment, and suicide.
Newburgh Girls Softball received $1,440 to provide funding for purchase of 20 helmets with faceguards, and 8 catcher gear sets for safety factors for the girls.
Youth First, Inc. received $1,130 to provide materials needed for two Girl's Circles. This educational support group will provide a safe, educational environment for girls in 9th-12th grads at Castle High School designed to promote positive attitudes toward relationships, healthy stress and coping skills, building positive self esteem, and body image, depression and anxiety, and alcohol, tobacco, and drug education.
