Women's Fund of Warrick County Grants2010 Grant Recipients
Big Brothers Big Sisters received $2,500 for the "Girl Power" project for Sharon Elemetary Girls- School based Mentoring Program matching business leaders with 4th and 5th grade girls to build character, and self esteem.
Hope Central received $4,500 for the purchase of materials needed for basic sewing classes; fitness traning rewards to purchase walking shoes upon completion of a 12 week fitness program led by a professional; fleece blanket materials to purchase materials for making blankets to be donated to the Bib and Bottle Boutique for low income new parents; Dave Ramsey for teens- to provdie materials for learning, budgeting and finance to young ladies.
Tri-Cap Family Health Service received $500 to update and improve services with a new laptop- to provide client services to low income girls and women on health screening, family planning, STI diagnosis and treatment, prenatal substance use conseling, and breast cancer services.
University of Evansville received $900 for Warrick Middle School Girls to provide scholarships for the OPTIONS program to help overcome cultural stereotypes and prepare them for careers in engineering and computer science.
Youth First Inc. received $1,000 to provide funding for a Youth First Inc. counselor to provide self esteem and self worth activities to 30 young ladies at Elberfield and Lynnville Elementary, and Tecumseh High Schools.
